Q: What to expect ?
A: To have fun! The goal is to work with you to produce a personal, professional collection of story telling, artistic portraits. I want to capture your child and/or your family in a “relaxed posed” manner. In other words let them be who they are. I want to capture their TRUE personality and we can do that by just HAVING FUN! I want you to walk away from your session with a sense of joy and security.
Q: How long will the session last?
A: I typically spend at least an hour with you and your child. It takes time for the child to feel comfortable with me and feel comfortable expressing their “real smiles” as I say. If a session goes over an hour, you should not be concerned. Some children take longer to warm up then others. Newborn sessions take at least an hour & half or longer due to fussiness, feedings and diaper changes.
Q: Location for the session?
A: Majority of sessions are in my in-home studio. I am also available for on-location shoots.
Q: Best time for the session?
A: Mornings are always better for little ones, they are fed and awake. I typically schedule children newborn to 1yr in my morning sessions (9:30am til 12:00).
Q: What kind of investment do most families make?
A: My packages start at $275. Most of my clients invest anywhere from $400 to $1000 Remember : everyone’s needs are different – some spend a little more and some spend a little less.
Q: What to wear?
A: For all children, I suggest loose fitting solid colors with little or no patterns/prints. AND please no collars for children one year and under. Khakis, overalls, jeans and pillowcase dresses are excellent choices. Try not to bring more then one change of clothes, especially for 1yr and older. They get too frustrated by changing their clothes often. Consider bringing your childs favorite hat, stuffed animal, etc…
For family sessions, I strongly suggest each family member wear clothing that has the same tone, not necessarily the same color. In the summer/fall months simple white button downs and jeans are a perfect choice. Oh, barefoot is a must! So mom, make sure everyones toes are clean and the nail polish looks good.
